So you want to market funny t shirts?

Getting buzz for your funny t shirts can be a challenge but if I can do it so can you.

The big secret to marketing funny t shirts is this:

Original and funny concepts that eventually become original and funny tee designs.

In my estimation fewer than 25 percent of all funny t-shirt companies actually use original designs. Many will take a design that has been done and will put their own spin on it or even blatantly copy the original design. Stealing a design will not make you stand out from the pack!

Its possible to come up with the same exact idea as another t-shirt company as a design. Whenever you come up with a new concept I would advise doing a Google search and a Google image search to see if anyone has done the exact design. If they have in my opinion let the idea go and move on to a new one. Recently an idea I had was done by a big time company so we decided to let that one go.

There are plenty of great funny t-shirt ideas out there so if you have an active imagination you should be able to come up with some.

One important way to get a buzz is to use twitter and Facebook effectively. Build a Facebook fan page and actively market your t-shirts on your page. On twitter use the search function effectively to get people who love t-shirts to follow you. You may want to follow other t-shirt companies to network.

Right well we need find some original funny t-shirts!

What type of software/equipment would I need to create t-shirt designs?

I am interested in making my own t shirts and would like to know if anyone could tell me what kind of software or equipment I could use to design artwork for a t shirt. I draw a lot of my designs by hand and also wanted to know if there is a way to scan my designs and edit them on the computer? Thanks for your answers!

Think of the fashion empires built by companies like,
Phat Farm, No Fear, Fubu
, Billabong, etc.
They started with an idea printed on a T-shirt!
